Does composite wood decks get too hot to walk on?
Someone told me not to build my deck out of compsite wood, because it gets too hot to walk on with bare feet. Has anyone had this problem, or know about this kind of deck?
Yes its true it does hold the heat of the sun More Than wood. And therefor, it can be more difficult to walk on with bare feet in the direct sun. However, this is only slightly worst than wood and if it was wood you would want to wear sandals to protect your feet especially from splinters. The composite does not need to be painted or stained and will hold up longer than wood. Won't crack and allow water in it which will cause it to crack and warp like wood does. Composite is ideal for sun decks and porches!
