Things You Don't Want To Think About On A Saturday Night
It's just a fact that most guys don't go out on Saturday night looking for a wife. Although girls are the first things on their minds, commitment is the last. Beware, guys, girls don't always think the same, though.
Although we all have our differences, we're all alike in a lot of ways, too. Relationships are the furthest thing from most guys' minds until they fall in love. Until then, all they're after is getting as much sex as they possibly can. If you took a poll of men and asked them if they had ever once thought about solitaire engagement rings, probably not a single one of them would say yes.
Then go and ask a group of women if they have ever thought about princess cut engagement rings. Almost every girl has. Women, whether they like to admit it or not, want commitment from men. Men don't want to think about it.
The fact that men commit to lifelong relationships with women is a miracle of nature. How does a simple 1 night stand turn into an obsessive Love Affair? In the blink of an eye, a carefree guy can only think about one woman. He'll sacrifice everything to be with her. He is completely out of his mind, but life wouldn't work for us if it didn't work that way.
There are no doubt biological imperatives in the whole process of mating. Before the age of birth control, if a woman had sex, she was in danger of getting pregnant. As a result, women were never as promiscuous as men. It was too dangerous. Therefore, women always put the commitment of marriage high on their list of priorities. While birth control has allowed women more freedom, it hasn't changed their more basic need for security in a mate.
Men on the other hand have always had the option of just disappearing if a baby comes along. The reason why they don't has mysterious roots. Set aside the morals we have been taught to abide by and you'll probably find that when a woman gets pregnant, a man feels an inescapable sense of responsibility for her and the unborn baby. Before that, though, all he wants is to get laid.
Saturday nights are a big part of mating rituals that exist in all species throughout time. While girls sweatshirts were fine for lounging around the house by day, at night she takes out her sexiest outfit to go out on the town. The guys, who are most comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt, put on the clothes they think will make them look their best. Then they get together and flirt and dance. If everything goes to plan, they don't go home alone.
Then the day will come when you get More Than you bargained for. You'll give up your Saturday nights and stay at home and change Your Baby's diapers. You'll be happy to do so, too. That's how life works. Just accept it.
