Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command: The Journey Begins

Buzz Lightyear Toy of Star Command: The Journey Begins is often a 2000 Disney animated  direct-to-video movie that acts as being a pilot for the television sequence Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. In this movie, Buzz Lightyear is often a space ranger that fights against the evil Emperor Zurg, and canonically this display inspired the existence on the Buzz Lightyear toyline that exists inside Pixar movie series Toy Story. Tim Allen reprises his role because the voice of U-Command Buzz Lightyear. The movie was later edited into three episodes in the tv exhibit, with all the "Andy's Room" sequence removed and Allen's voice replaced by the series' voice actor for Buzz, Patrick Warburton. Also, Tom Hanks does not reprise his role as Woody  within this movie; nonetheless, his brother, Jim Hanks, voices Woody. Wallace Shawn, R. Lee Ermey, and Joe Ranft reprise their roles as Rex, Sarge, and Wheezy respectively, but John Ratzenberger isn't going to reprise his part as Hamm; as an alternative Andrew Stanton voices Hamm, by which Stanton and Ratzenberger's voices for Hamm sound alike.

Plot

The movie begins in Andy's bedroom exactly where Woody (voiced by Jim Hanks), Buzz (voiced by Tim Allen), Jessie and also the other toys are about to watch the VHS copy of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

While in the film, Buzz Lightyear toy and his spouse Warp Darkmatter (voiced by Diedrich Bader) are on a mission to seek out three missing L.G.M. ("Little Green Men", a noosphere-dwelling race who're the scientists of Star Command's Universe Safety Unit. They're precisely the same aliens that were witnessed in toy form at Pizza Planet in Toy Story, which are presumably based to the fictional present.) They discover the misplaced L.G.M. inside a concealed outpost belonging to Emperor Zurg (voiced by Wayne Knight), directly underneath an enormous monster which has "crater vipers" for fingers. After they enter, they find the missing LGMs within a torture tank. A few of Zurg's minions (these kinds of as Brain Pod #13 along with a Grub) ask if there is anything. Zurg enters, planning to choose their brains. Buzz and Warp confront him, plus a battle breaks out with Zurg's robots though Zurg escapes. Zurg starts the self-destruct sequence, leaving them with 60 seconds to escape ahead of the hide out explodes. Warp and Buzz cheerfully pronounce sixty seconds to be "all the time while in the world", but throughout the battle Warp is pinned underneath wreckage. As Buzz tries vainly to totally free him, Warp presses Buzz's emergency escape button, rocketing him to safety, and grins in apparent satisfaction at seeing Buzz escape no matter whether he wanted to or not since the hidden base explodes.

Buzz mourns Warp's brave and tragic death, and refuses to take a substitute partner, pondering that it can end just exactly the same as Warp. Commander Nebula (voiced by Adam Carolla) gives Buzz an assignment. A Star Command recruit, essentially Princess Mira Nova (voiced by Nicole Sullivan), is named his new companion as, getting the power to make herself intangible, she is virtually invulnerable, but Buzz reiterates his refusal to expose any far more partners to danger, regardless of Nebula's forceful assertion that Buzz will not be to work alone. Buzz later rescues a shy janitor named Booster (voiced by Stephen Furst) from becoming fired.

Zurg's employees are then shown making in his fortress a brand new second-in-command termed Agent Z, that is flesh and blood but has a robotic arm which will transform right into a variety of weapons. Zurg learns of a massive orb around the L.G.M. homeworld named the Uni-Mind, that is responsible for that telepathic website link in between the creatures. Zurg sends assault forces to capture it.

Meanwhile, the Star Command L.G.M. have designed a robot soldier described as XR (voiced by Larry Miller and Neil Flynn), showing that they're able to rebuild him after nearly any battle injury. XR's head is a blank slate; as a result he can study from Buzz Lightyear, to whom he is provided as being a partner and XR mimics Buzz. The LGMs learn that their planet is invaded by Zurg in an effort to get the Uni-Mind. When Buzz and XR set off to defend the L.G.M. planet from invasion, XR mimics Buzz's actions, learning from him. They may be confronted by Agent Z, whom they pursue to a rooftop. Agent Z shoots a bomb and XR, not however having mastered Buzz's combat savvy, is destroyed.

The Uni-Mind is stolen by Zurg; in its absence, the L.G.M. can no longer believe clearly. They rebuild XR, but due to their confusion the new model is intelligent and a genius.

Booster is shown cleansing the floor yet again and asks what the room rangers are as much as, but it's a secret. Buzz says that that is "space ranger" enterprise. Right after that, Booster walks away, sadly. Commander Nebula made a decision to launch a full-scale assault on Planet Z, then, XR enters in and says that Zurg normally requires the universe along with the LGMs take him to Booster. Mira says that only one ranger could visit cease Zurg using the Alpha-One. Nebula dismisses their prepare and calls them "pig-headed indicate offs" and decides to launch a full assault at Planet Z in 0800 hrs.

Zurg, when his technicians fail to carry out so, suborns the Uni-Mind to ensure that he can use it to control the minds of other people. Zurg's people thereafter commence generating a "Mega-Ray" that may use the corrupted Uni-Mind to bend overall populations of people to Zurg's will.

Mira and Buzz each and every attempt to steal the Alpha-One prototype spacecraft; Mira, working with her powers of psychokinesis, wins the face-off and leaves together with the ship. Meanwhile, XR gives Booster a "VIP tour" at Buzz's craft and goes inside it. Buzz pursues her in his personal craft, not realizing that Booster and XR are within it, getting entered it to play make-believe. Eventually, Buzz catches Mira and stores Alpha-One in his spaceship's cargo bay. At the moment Booster and XR are also discovered.

Zurg's Mega-Ray subverts many planets in fast succession like as Rizone and Batheous. He then turns it on Star Command, enjoying the irony of watching his biggest enemies turn out to be his mouthpieces. Buzz, not to pleased about this, is about to fire Booster, but the red alert rings. Buzz, Mira, Booster, and XR see the Mega-Ray's beam strike Star Command, and enter it to find out its results. This scene sequence characteristics a reprise of Buzz's famed line from Toy Story "Buzz Lightyear to Star Command: Come in, Star Command!", which he uses to get in touch with their communications getting center.

When they find that each of the Space Rangers happen to be suborned by Zurg, they flee in Buzz's Star Cruiser. Zurg sends his victims to destroy them, working with Star Command's overall arsenal. When one among his men plant a bomb around the Star Cruiser, they use Alpha-One to escape, just as Buzz's craft explodes and Zurg leaves laughing.

They land on Zurg's dwelling planet, narrowly escaping the defensive "seeker drones". They crash-land the Alpha-One, that is mistaken by Brain Pod #13 for a weather balloon. There, Buzz insists on finishing the mission, alone. When they start off to argue over who gets a nose-ring, Buzz orders them to depart him. Buzz fights Agent Z and arrests him, only to reveal he's Warp Darkmatter. Taking advantage of Buzz's momentary confusion at this, Warp renders him unconscious and delivers him to Zurg.

Warp tells Buzz that he was operating for Zurg for a long time as being a Double Agent. When Zurg mocks Buzz by playing the dramatic video of Buzz's funeral oration for Warp, Buzz responds by dictating his "final log entry". Zurg and Warp look at in amusement at Buzz's apparently futile adherence to official treatment, but Mira, Booster and XR listen to Buzz's surrender and his ultimate entry (which features a coded plea for support) and return to Planet Z to help him.

Zurg will not be heading to destroy Buzz, but use the mind-control ray to turn Buzz into a copy of himself. XR and Booster arrive just in time to rescue him since the Mega-Ray fires. Booster and Mira destroy Agent Z's mechanical arm soon after Booster lands on Warp. Buzz and Zurg face one another; Zurg thinks he has won, but Buzz and his three friends surround Zurg and pronounce him below arrest; but Warp escapes by means of a distraction when the brain pods shoot the Mega-Ray at "the Planet of Widows and Orphans".

Zurg manages to escape and says that if Buzz goes to any planet, he can listen to his voice mocking Buzz. Booster and XR, below orders from Buzz, capture Warp Darkmatter and leap from Zurg's now-exploding tower. Mira employs her "ghosting" energy to take Buzz to your core in the Uni-Mind, wherever his aura of pure selfless superior overcomes Zurg's contaminating affect. In moments the Uni-Mind is restored to ordinary, freeing the suborned peoples and leaving Zurg himself momentarily helpless. His final words ahead of his space ship explodes are "Curse you, Buzz Lightyear!". The unity from the L.G.M. is restored and Warp is arrested a lot to his chagrin.

The movie ends when Buzz, getting at last admitted that he are unable to get the job done alone, generates a new staff termed "Team Lightyear" with XR, Mira and Booster (all recently decorated with Star Command's highest commendation). They fly to your galaxy and shout "TO INFINITY AND Past!" appropriate just before the display cuts to black as well as the credits get started. Buy U-Command Buzz Lightyear Toy From Amazon.com
