What do i need to do this?
I don't know if i'm asking in the right place but hopefully someone can help.
We live in Texas and after my first daughter was born my family came over from England.
They did many video's on their JVC camcorder which has now been thrown away because it was an old model (about 10y/o)
Because i have no video's on my daughter at such a young age as oppose to my other two girls i requested they send me their video's. Now i know British VHS/DVD and camcorder tapes won't work over here so i'm trying desperatly to find an adaptor or unit that will allow me to record these tapes onto American VHS - Is there such a thing or perhaps a place i can send them to to have them copied? I have a small digital camcorder, i was foolish to think their tapes would be small enough to fit into that device i didn't think these tapes would be so thick and big - but, i'm not a computer/electrical person so hopefully someone here will have an answer to this issue...

The European standard (type) of video is known as PAL
The American standard is known as NTSC
You Are in need of a PAL to NTSC converter
these ARE available in wide distribution everywhere
Call Your Local Wolfe Camera dealer -- they should be able to put you in touch with a low cost service that does this sort of thing -- IF, they themselves do not offer the service locally --- it is a very simple and fairly low dollar thing -- especially in view of the importance of the content OF which you speak !!!
