Iron Man Sequel Premiere Moved Because Of Ash
As if the Iceland volcano eruption hasn't caused enough problems, it has also caused the premiere of the Iron Man sequel to be moved to Los Angeles, Calif., from London. It won't cause studio heads and actors to run for a low rate personal loan, as it isn't likely to affect grosses. Iron Man 2 is one of the most awaited sequels for this year, and a delayed premiere isn't exactly going to stop that train from rolling.
Iron Man is one of the most Marvel-ous comic book movies
Marvel has produced some very successful films based on its comics. Some results were mixed - the Ang Lee helmed Incredible Hulk, both Fantastic Four films, Daredevil, Elektra were all lambasted by critics and fans alike. (While we're on the subject - let's be honest; Spider-Man 3 was awful.) Guaranteed loans to make another Iron Man would be easily procured, considering how successful it was.
What else is Marvel up to?
Iron Man 2 premieres in May. Hotly anticipated is the role of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury in the film. The rumor mill also contends there's a Fantastic Four reboot in the works. A Thor film is already being shot, and a Wolverine sequel is also in the works. Also inline for production for Marvel Studios are a Captain America film, The Avengers, a Spider-Man reboot, and a Deadpool film starring Ryan Reynolds.
Iron Man 2
The premiere for Iron Man 2, from the New York Times, will be moved to Los Angeles from London. The recent Iceland volcano activity has made Europe a troublesome flyzone. Stars of Iron Man 2 will have to settle for glitz, glamour, and smog in L.A. in lieu of the fish, the chips, cups of tea, constant rain, and no sunlight of London. Though the volcano has certainly interrupted air travel, it isn't going to dent the grosses for Iron Man 2. The first film was very successful, and there's no reason this one shouldn't be.
